Japan­ese archi­tec­ture firm Stu­dio Schemata cre­ated flat sur­faces on these vin­tage school desks by pour­ing color epoxy on the top board, which was uneven due to dete­ri­o­ra­tion and scrib­bling. Each desk retains its indi­vid­u­al­ity, how­ever, through the use of translu­cent color in the epoxy–deep points are mir­rored by dense col­ors and shal­low points by more trans­par­ent shades.
